As the basic education schools, monastic schools and private schools in regions and states including Nay Pyi Taw Council Area have opened since the 2nd of June for 2025-2026 Academic Year, students have engaged in learning of education in a peaceful environment. For the second day, on the 3rd of June, a total of 6,031,012 students attended schools in a peaceful and cheerful manner. In this regard:
- The enrollment for basic education schools under the Department of Basic Education for 2025-2026 Academic Year is: 4,146,251 students at primary schools, 1,344,236 students at middle schools, and 628,773 students at high schools, totalling 6,119,260 students.
The government provides free textbooks, exercise books and stationery were provided to all primary to high school students. Additionally, school uniforms were also provided to KG and primary students free of charge.Furthermore, students who are late in enrolling for various reasons are also being accepted for enrollment.
Officials from the Ministry of Education and relevant organizations are conducting some kinds of advanced preparation activities such as setting up desks and chairs at schools, arranging school ferry services, conducting school cleaning activities in order to open basic education schools systematically. The Nay Pyi Taw Council chair and chief ministers from regions and states along with officials inspects teachers and students engaging in learning of education at the basic education schools across the nation, it is reported.
