The students whose answer sheets in regions and states damaged by the Mandalay earthquake have to retake the matriculation examination for 2025 starting 16 June. Aiming to ensure that the students can take the examination peacefully, teachers are teaching subjects to students at the training camps have opened at the designated schools since 28 April. In this regard:
- SAC Member General Maung Maung Aye along with Nay Pyi Taw Council Chair U Than Tun Oo and Deputy Minister for Education Dr. Zaw Myint arrived at No (3) BEHS in Pobbathiri Township, Kyauk Chat Basic Education High School in Zeyathiri Township, and No (14) BEHS in Zabuthiri Township in Nay Pyi Taw Council Territory on 25 May, and comforted students preparing for their matriculation examination for 2025 and provided foodstuff.
- SAC Member Daw Dwe Bu, together with the Kachin State Chief Minister, state chief justice, state government members, chief legal officer andstate-level departmental officials, inspected No (3) BEHS in Myitkyina on 21 May, where 410 Grade-12 students from eight basic education high schools, are undergoing subject-wise intensive preparation sessions to retake the matriculation examination and preparations of lunch. Likewise, they inspected No (1) BEHS where 421 G-12 students from six basic education high schools are conducting intensive preparation to retake the exam and preparations of meals.
- Mandalay Region Chief Minister U Myo Aung, along with ministers of the regional government, arrived at No (34) BEHS in Chanmyathazi Township on 31 May, and comforted students conducting preparation to re-sit the matriculation examination affected by the Mandalay earthquake and coordinated necessary requirements.
The ministries provide cash assistance for G-12 students who have to retake the matriculation examination for 2024-2025 to be held in June. The Ministry of Education issued an announcement that the students retaking the examination can take out exam ID card starting 1st of June, reports say.
