The students whose answer sheets in regions and states damaged by the Mandalay earthquake have to retake the matriculation examination for 2025 starting 16 June. Aiming to ensure that the students can take the examination peacefully, teachers are teaching subjects to students at the training camps opened at the designated schools as of 28 April. In this regard:
- Union Minister for Education Dr. Nyunt Pe, accompanied by deputy ministers Dr. Zaw Myint and U Nay Myo Hlaing, and officials, proceeded to Basic Education Schools in Nay Pyi Taw Council Area, where they observed teachers who were teaching specific subjects to students peacefully and comfortably. They then coordinated the necessary requirements.
- A total of 51 training camps are being opened for students retaking matriculation examination in Nay Pyi Taw Council Area. They are six camps in Ottarathiri Township, six in Tatkone Township, nine in Zeyathiri Township, 12 in Pobbathiri Township, three in Pyinmana Township, three in Zabuthiri Township, 10 in Lewe Township and two in Dekkhinathiri Township.
- In doing so, pro-rectors, professors, associate professors, lecturers and teachers from universities are teaching relevant subjects systematically to students at designated schools. Moreover, measures are being taken to uplift the students’ morale, who are the future of the country.
The Ministry of Education arranged to open training camps as the revision class for the students who can closely study the subjects for retaking the matriculation examination. On the other hand, it arranged free online classes on education channel for those who did not join the classes in training camps in person. Lastly, students could also access charity-based education programmes through private school YouTube channels and Telegram platforms, reports say.
