Rakhine State Chief Minister Inspects Razed Land by Fire at Say Tha Mar Gyi IDP Camp in Sittwe Township, Provides Fire Victims with Supplies

A fire broke out at 4:15 AM of 2 May in Say Tha Mar Gyi IDP Camp, Sittwe Township, where local military personnel, Myanmar Police Force members, staff of General Administration Department, and members of Fire Brigade and Myanmar Red Cross Society extinguished a fire. The fire destroyed 18 buildings of 10-individual dwelling units, 180 units in total, at the camp.

In the afternoon, Rakhine State Chief Minister U Htein Lin together with the Western Command commander and departmental officials inspected the collective clean-up efforts of local military personnel, Myanmar Police Force members, staff of General Administration Department, and members of Fire Brigade and Myanmar Red Cross Society at the razed land by fire in the IDP camp of Sittwe Township.Later, the Chief Minister provided K10.08 million of one-daymeal(especially rice and curry), K6.3 million of rice, instant noodles, waterproof tents, and 16 kinds of family relief kits for 1,260 fire victims of 180 households, reports say.
