Stimulant Tablets Seized in Pyigyiyagun and Waw Townships

The combined team comprising Anti-narcotics Task Force members across the country are stepping up seizure of illicit drugs and drug-trafficking. As a result:

• On 9 March, acting on a tip-off, the combined team conducted a search on a six-wheeler of NISSAN CONDOR driven by Han Win Aung, accompanied by Naing Min Htet and Soe Moe Aung, in Pyigyitagun Township, Mandalay Region. During the search, they seized over K1 billion worth of 30.8 kg of Heroin and 0.54 million of stimulant tablets. According to the offenders’ statements, authorities again arrested Tin Win, Thiri Dhorn and Wah Wah Soe who conducted the drug-trade to Mandalay Region from Shan State (North).
• On 10 March, acting on a tip-off, the combined team conducted a search on a 22-wheeler of DONG FENG driven by Wai Phyo Mg (aka) Ko Phyo, accompanied by Ma Malar Kyaw, heading for Hpa-An from Mandalay, at the scene near the Nyaung Khar Shay village in Waw Township, Bago Region. During the search, they seized over K3.7 billion worth of 2.53 million of stimulant tablets. The offenders confessed that they were asked by Yun Zha Shao (aka) Kalar (still at large) to transport the narcotics to Hpa-An in Kayin State from Mongyai in Shan State (North).

Legal proceedings have been taken against them under the law, and officials are conducting ongoing investigations to identify further drug-related offenders, it is reported.
