The government is effectively combatting crimes including online gambling and telecom frauds in border regions. In this regard, a total of 318 foreigners who entered Shwe Kokko and KK Park of Myawady through illegal routes have been verified and detained: 150 foreign immigrants on 24 February and 168 foreign immigrants on 25 February.
From 30 January to 25 February 2025, a total of 2,538 individuals have been identified and detained. Among them, 673 foreign nationals have been extradited to their home countries via Thailand, and the rest of the detained 1,865 foreign nationals are ready to be extradited, and most of them are Chinese nationals, it is reported.
