Union Minister for Education Dr. Nyunt Pe convened a meeting with university rectors, principals of degree colleges of education, and regional and state education officers at the Ministry of Education in Nay Pyi Taw on 3 January.
- During the visits, the Union Minister said that the 2024-2025 academic year's Grade 5 and Grade 9 end-of-year examinations are approaching and that special attention must be paid to ensuring that students can take the exams peacefully and successfully.
- Teachers were urged to collaborate in fostering students' academic excellence, preserving national values, and nurturing well-rounded competent individuals with five essential strengths. Emphasizing the importance of dedication, officials encouraged educators to teach with commitment and ensure that students achieve genuine academic achievement.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Ministers Dr. Zaw Myint and U Nay Myo Hlaing, along with Director Generals, Deputy Director Generals, and other senior officials. University rectors, principals of degree colleges of education, and regional and state education officers also participated via video conference. Discussions focused on several key areas, including the compilation of university-specific documentary records, the enhancement of distance education programs, and ensuring effective teaching from the foundational level to guarantee genuine academic proficiency among students. Officials also deliberated on strategies to improve students' reading habits by developing school libraries and initiatives to enhance teacher training programs to maintain high-quality education standards.
