Applications for Establishment of Political Party Allowed after Identification

The Peace and Development Party submitted its application to establish a political party to the Union Election Commission on 23 January, under Section 3 of the Political Parties Registration Law, to participate in the multiparty democratic general election.

As of today, 19 parties have applied under Section 3 of the Political Parties Registration Law, while 50 parties have applied for continued registration under Section 25, bringing the total to 69 parties. The Union Election Commission is currently reviewing the latest application.

Until 23 January of 2025, 69 political parties have applied for the permission to establish and register as a political party. Therefore, the UEC approved 55 political parties. Among them, 53 political parties are left as two political parties have been annulled, one party is under verification, nine parties have been rejected to register as political party, and three parties have been rejected to establish as a political party, reports say.
