The 53rd Myanmar Health Research Congress Successfully Concludes

The opening ceremony and first day of the 53rd Myanmar Health Research Congress were successfully organized on 20 January, and it continued as follows:

  • On the second day, various researchers including consultant doctor and specialists from Yangon General Hospital and Nay Pyi Taw General Hospital (1,000-bed) presented a total of 29 research papers and shared their research findings.
  • On the third day, lecturers from University of Medical Technology and University of Dental Medicine (Mandalay), physicians, post-graduate female candidates and researchers from Defence Services Medical Academy, and medical experts presented 10 research papers. Moreover, health related issues seminars were held with relevant topics.
  • On the fourth day, the experts from Myanmar and Japanese Nagasaki University discussed their findings regarding the diseases occurring in Myanmar and other Asia countries such as Dengue fever, Chikungunya, Zika infectious virus and related symptoms. The deputy director of the Department of Medical Research and researchers read their research papers.
  • On the fifth day, the medical experts from Myanmar discussed different topics including “Role of AI Technology in Medical Education.” Then, intellectuals and intelligentsia from China, Bangladesh and Myanmar discussed topics such as community-based health system, maternal healthcare, radiotherapy for the treatment of cancer.

At the awarding ceremony of the congress, the award selection board members presented the best paper awards, including basic research, applied research, health systems research, and best poster.
