Chairman of the State Administration Council Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing delivered a speech at a meeting with Tatmadaw members and families in Thanlyin Station of Yangon Command on 25 January.
The excerpts of speech delivered by the Senior General are as follows:
- Military personnel must serve the duties with military awareness and knowledge, as well as security awareness and knowledge, regardless of the unit or location they serve in.
- Military skills taught by training depots must be effectively applied in the practical field and military personnel must constantly practice, maintain good health and strength appropriate for their age.
- In doing national defence duty, Tatmadaw members must carry out the duties courageously and it is required to have a strong will and desire to do so.
- Each individual must take a pride in serving the noble service for the State and the people train and need to fulfill the duties.
- As per the training policy of “study, practise, and follow”, one must constantly study to keep abreast of ever-changing military techniques, consistently practice to become more proficient in the military skills learned, and always follow and apply the established rules, regulations, and orders.
- Regarding administrative matters, there must be a balanced administration model and an ability to successfully lead projects by understanding the nature of people.
- The Tatmadaw has provided soldiers of all ranks with proper rights and benefits by their position. The officials must oversee to ensure the proper rights and benefits and implement welfare provision for the personnel. Additionally, the officials need to meet the requirements of the military personnel as much as they can.
- The Tatmadaw members and families need to run both military-owned and privately-owned agricultural and livestock businesses for own welfare. Selling surplus products to other governmental personnel and local residents at favourable price can improve the local community.
- The concerned officials can perform to foster morale of military personnel through doing tasks for military development activities like training, administration and welfare.
- As it is essential to do reading for developing individual skill, all need to study beneficial study of literature.
- All are urged to constantly study literature as illiteracy can hinder the progress in life and face challenges.
The Senior General was accompanied by Commander-in-Chief (Navy) Admiral Htein Win, Commander-in-Chief (Air) General Tun Aung, senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief and the commander of Yangon Command, the Tatmadaw members and families in Thanlyin military station, it is reported.
