The Central Committee on Supervising Ground Census Enumeration organized its 1/2025 coordination meeting at the meeting hall of the Ministry of Immigration and Population in Nay Pyi Taw on 21 January, with the attendance of Union Minister for Immigration and Population U Myint Kyaing, in his capacity as the Chairman of the Central Committee, and officials. The chairpersons of the Committee on Supervising Ground Census Enumeration of regions and states, and committee members virtually attended the meeting.
During the meeting, the Union Minister highlighted the following points:
- Diligent efforts must be made to cross-check the data from population and household census and the data from field survey, starting at the township level, to ensure the voter list’s accuracy.
- As people moved to other areas due to terrorist attacks, the relevant township, district, region and state supervisory committees have to coordinate with each other for ensuring the names of those migrated persons to be included in the voter lists and preventing the same voter lists.
- The Union Election Commission put the population lists of those who turn over 18 years on 31 December 2025 which were submitted by region and state supervisory committees into the Central Voter List Management System (CVLMS), and cross-checked at national level. Therefore, step-by-step verifications will be required to prevent the inaccurate data and same data in the system, and the data will be submitted within designated date.
Afterward, the Nay Pyi Taw Council chair and officials reported on the completion of decisions adopted in previous meeting and plans to be carried out for sending verified population lists in timely manner, and plans for departmental cooperation to ensure timely work completion. Later, the Union Minister coordinated the necessary actions based on the reports.
