Vice-Chairman of the State Administration Council Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win received a delegation led by Advisory Board Chairman of the Office of the Royal Thai Army Chief General Direk Bongkarn at Bayintnaung Villa in Nay Pyi Taw on 21 January.
At the meeting, they discussed the following points:
- Good conditions in diplomatic relations and friendly ties between the two countries and the two armed forces.
- The measures which should be taken in cooperation between the two governments as well as armed forces in the eradication of human trafficking and online scams in border areas.
- The action taken against illegal fishing trawlers and fishermen from Thailand in Myanmar’s territorial waters and plans.
- The exchange of information to ensure peace and stability in the border region.
Also present together with the Vice-Senior General were Chief of the General Staff (Army, Navy, and Air) Lt-Gen Kyaw Swa Lin, and senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief. The Chairman of the Advisory Board of the Office of the Royal Thai Army Chief was accompanied by senior officers of the Royal Thai Armed Forces, and Royal Thai Army Attaché to Myanmar Senior Colonel Thanwit Yomchinda, it is reported.
