In the tenure of State Administration Council Government, efforts are being made to increase exports via border trade posts and regular trade routes. In this regard;
- Within eight-month period from 1 April to 30 November in the fiscal year of 2024-2025, Myanmar has earned a total of USD 451.18 million from the export of 348.536 tonnes of fishery products.
- From 1 April to 28 November in the fiscal year of 2024-2025, Myanmar has exported 1.39 million tonnes of pulses, corn and sesame.
Myanmar mainly exports three product groups: fish group, prawn group, and other fishery products (non-fish and non-prawn) to over 30 countries, including Thailand, China, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, the UAE, and the UK. Those are exported to foreign countries via normal trade (by air and sea) as well as border trade through border trade posts such as Myawaddy, Kawthaung, Myeik, Kyaingtong, Mawtaung, and Kyainglat to neighboring countries, reports say.
