On 24 December 2024, U San Ngwe, 66, a ward administrator of Holme Street Railway Station in Sanchaung Township of Yangon Region got gunshot wounds as the terrorists shot at him who was at the ward administrator office and then, they fled.
Thanks to the tip-off by the people who oppose terrorist acts and their collaborative efforts, authoriteis have arrested perpetrators Zaw Zaw Bo and May Myat Thinzar Kyaw, who gunned down the ward administrator, at their home in Aung San Ward of Insein Township, and seized one black polycoat CZ 2075 RAMI P pistol, five bullets and a white-coloured taxi “Fielder” with the license plate no. YGN-8 GG-6136), which were used in the crime.
Based on the confessions of the arrested perpetrators, Kyaw Zin Oo was arrested along with one Glock pistol, 14 rounds of bullets and one grenade at the hostel named “Sai Thu Aung” in Htantabin Township, and another perpetrator Sai Naung Htet Aung was arrested along with one black polycoat SIG SAUER pistol, two magazines, 33 rounds of 9 mm bullets, and two smoke bombs, all of which were kept in the paper box at the mezzanine platform of the first floor of the building where he live in Hlinethaya (East) Township.
According to the confessions of three arrested perpetrators,
- They all were members of the terrorist group named “Free Land Attack Force” (FLA) and the group comprises of 15 members, and its leader is Nay Myo Nwe (under identification), still at large, who lives in Mae Sot of Thailand. The perpetrators committed such murders under the instructions of Nay Myo Nwe.
- On 22 December FLA leader Nay Myo Nwe ordered three of them including Kyaw Zin Oo to kill the ward administrator of the Holme Street Railway Station in Sanchaung Township via Telegram channel.
- On 24 December, Zaw Zaw Bo drove a white-coloured taxi Fielder with license plate no. YGN-8 GG-6136 that they had hired whereas Kyaw Zin Oo and May Myat Thinzar Kyaw took a pistol each and gunned U San Ngwe down.
- Following the crime, perpetrators Kyaw Zin Oo and Zaw Zaw Bo took one pistol each while May Myat Thinzar Kyaw entrusted her black polycoat SIG SAUER pistol, two magazines and 33 rounds of 9 mm bullets to Sai Naung Htet (aka) Argyi to be kept at his house.
According to further interrogations, the three perpetrators, under the instruction given by the FLA leader Nay Myo Nwe (still at large), launched two grenade attacks against the Tamwe Electrical Manager Office on Banyadala Road in Natmauk Ward of Tamwe Township on 23 November 2024, and another two terrorist grenade attacks against the Tamwe Development Administrator Office in the night of 10 December. Moreover, perpetrators Kyaw Zin Oo, May Myat Thinzar Kyaw and FLA member Aung Myo Aye (under identification), who is still at large, carried out three separate bomb attacks: the frist bomb attacks with three time-bombs at the fence of the Insein Township Electricity Supply Coporation in Insein Park in May 2023; the second attack with a time-bomb at the fence of Tamwe Development Administrator Office in June; and the third attack with three time-bombs at CCTV box near Mindhamma traffic light on Thamaing Road in Mayangon Township in August.
Authorities have arrested four FLA terrorist group members including Kyaw Zin Oo, who carried out bomb attacks and a terrorist murder, alongside the exhibits: three pistols; 52 bullets; one grenade; and two smoke bombs. Furter harsh legal action will be taken against those criminals under the law, reports say.
