Efforts made to Increase Exports in the Fiscal Year of 2024-2025

In the tenure of State Administration Council Government, efforts are being made to increase exports via border trade posts and regular trade routes. In this regard;

• Within eight-month period from 1 April to 30 November in the fiscal year of 2024-2025, Myanmar has earned a total of USD 259.614 million from the export of 241,411.002 tonnes of fish. Compared with the corresponding period in last fiscal year, Myanmar has earned in excess of USD 39.344 million from the export of 55,716.375 tonnes of fish in excess.
• Within eight-month period from 1 April to 30 November in the fiscal year of 2024-2025, Myanmar has earned a total of USD 1.363 million from the export of 908.48 tonnes of honey: 860.68 tonnes via regular trade and 47.8 tonnes via border trade posts.
• Within eight-month period from 1 April to 30 November in the fiscal year of 2024-2025, Myanmar has earned a total of USD 17.871 million from the export of 5,298.557 tonnes of prawn.
• Within eight months of this fiscal year, Myanmar has earned USD 452.181 million from the export of 348,536.399 tonnes of fishery products.
• During this fiscal year, Myanmar has exported over 1.7 million tonnes of corn to foreign markets via border trade posts and via shipment as well.

During this fiscal year, UMFCCI has set the goal to achieve the economic growth rate of 3.8 per cent. Some sectors were wrecked due to Yagi typhoon and the situations in some regions. However, Myanmar received GDP growth rate of 2.4 per cent at the end of the first six-month period from April to September, reports say.
