Chairman of State Administration Council Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Thadoe Maha Thray Sithu Thadoe Thiri Thudhamma Min Aung Hlaing delivered a speech at the Passing-out Parade of the 11th Intake of Graduate Female Cadet Course, that will reinforce the role of servicewomen of the Tatmadaw, was held at the parade ground of Myanmar Army Officer Training School-OTS (Hmawbi) in Yangon on 23 December.
First, the Senior General took the salute of the cadet company and inspected the graduate cadet company. After that, the cadet company saluted the Senior General with slow-march past and quick-march past.
Next, the Senior General presented award to the Best Cadet Award winner of the 11th Intake of Graduate Female Cadet Course. The Senior General then delivered graduation speech as follows:
- The inception of the Graduate Female Cadet Course, propelled by the unfeigned aspiration, “To produce female officers within the Tatmadaw for ensuring the intrinsic engagement of servicewomen in the fulfillment of our national defense duty for the Republic of the Union of Myanmar”, has proudly progressed to its 11th Intake.
- National defense, as an inherent historical responsibility, transcends the Tatmadaw to embody the collective duty of all nationalities—men and women alike, from all walks of life. In this light, the nurturing of servicewomen as comrades has been a dedicated and transformative endeavor.
- Throughout the annals of Myanmar’s history, female personnel have stood as unwavering pillars of resilience, courage, and determination, making profound sacrifices in their steadfast commitment to the Nation. At this critical juncture, the cradle of women exemplifies its resplendent mettle in driving comprehensive advancements and fostering progressive strides across all sectors of the Nation.
- Currently, female officers actively fulfill their duties across the Tatmadaw (Army, Navy, Air) and within their respective services or corps, reflecting the progressive implementation of female officer appointments initiated in 2014.
- Moreover, let me convey that the appointment of the rank-and-file servicewomen, dedicated to the Nation and the Tatmadaw, is presently underway.
- Members of military servicewomen as comrades-in-arms are diligently embracing demanding roles, including arduous assignments within special operations task forces, representation in international military delegations aboard naval vessels traversing vast oceanic voyages, and active participation in joint maritime security initiatives such as sea-shield exercises. Furthermore, their contributions extend into aviation, flight missions, and military parachuting activities, transcending traditional service expectations.
- Our Tatmadaw servicewomen demonstrate their indomitable mettle, keeping abreast of multinational counterparts in joint counter-terrorism exercises under the auspices of ASEAN countries.
- Moreover, female officers and their contingents brought great distinction to the Nation by securing five gold medals, four silver medals, and seven bronze medals at the 32nd ASEAN Armies Rifle Meet (AARM) held in the Philippines.
- Throughout the training regimen, and in adherence to the training policy of ‘Be Fit, Be Competent, Be Bold,’ individuals have been rigorously prepared to excel in both physical strength and mental resilience.
- In order to ensure the effective retention and application of the knowledge imparted by the school, adherence to the principle of three readiness—'Ready to Train, Ready to Defend, Ready to Fight'—is essential. Let me emphasize the necessity of recurring training, not only within the academic environment but also throughout operational duties, ensuring the effective integration of these principles into real-world scenarios.
- As the role of leadership is crucial in any organization, it is essential that the organization cultivate entrusted leaders who consistently strive to enhance their quality and effectiveness.
- To provide true leadership, it is imperative not only to master the necessary knowledge and skills that evolve with time, but also to possess moral integrity, honesty, and astuteness.
- In addition to the national defense, it is crucial for the Tatmadaw to strengthen unity both within the unit and beyond to effectively fulfill the national political obligations shaped by historical imperatives. Inspired by the ethos 'Divided by None, United as One,' the unity and cohesion of military personnel and their family members are essential to ensuring institutional strength and operational resilience.
- Strengthening unity within the unit is vital, and equally important is fostering unity beyond it in a practical manner.
- The cultivation of unity beyond the unit is demonstrated through initiatives that advance the interests of the Nation and its people; consequently, female officers must resolutely uphold their commitment to this crucial imperative.
- The distinct tenets of military triumph rest upon the unyielding morale, steadfast integrity, and uncompromising obedience to directives exhibited by the soldiery. In the Tatmadaw, morale and discipline form the backbone, while strict obedience to orders embodies the prestige of military personnel.
- An organization’s strength and longevity depend on clear policies, strict rules, discipline, lawful conduct, and systematic training.
- Comrades must act in accordance with the sixty codes of conduct and comply with not only military and civil laws but also the Geneva Conventions, along with the globally observed Rules of Engagement (RoE).
- Female officers need to strive for the interests of the Nation and its people with utmost dedication, giving precedence to the Three Main National Causes, to endeavor to become remarkable leaders trusted by the Nation and the Tatmadaw, and to solidify an unshakable unity by fostering cohesion within and beyond, grounded in robust administration and the exercise of sound and deliberate judgment.
After the military parade, the Chairman of State Administration Council Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services, met and congratulated outstanding cadets at the reception hall of the Headquarters of Defence Services (Army) Officers Training School (Hmawbi). In his congratulatory speech, he said that the outstanding cadets need to pursue their efforts and achieve higher life status and not to lose the goals, keeping good deeds they have had. Again, the Senior General urged the outstanding cadets to make endeavor to become the supporters for the benefits of the country in any fields assigned.
In the evening, the Senior General graced the graduation dinner in hounour of the 11th Intake of female graduate cadet course at the Pyidaungsu Hall of Defence Services (Army) Officers Training School (Hmawbi) in Yangon and had the dinner together with the graduate officers and attendees.
