Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing accepted the Credentials of Ambassador-designate of Cambodia to Myanmar Mr. Cheng Manith and the Credentials of Ambassador-designate of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic to Myanmar Mr. Bounphieng Chanthavong at the Credentials Hall of the Office of SAC Chairman in Nay Pyi Taw on 20 December.
- During the call between the SAC Chairman Prime Minister and the Ambassador of Cambodia, they frankly discussed cementing bilateral diplomatic relations and friendly relations between Myanmar and Cambodia, the potential for economic cooperation, the promotion of bilateral trade, and efforts to further enhance bilateral trade, the development of the tourism industry, and cultural exchange. They highlighted holding the ceremony to mark the 70th anniversary of the founding of the diplomatic relations between the two countries, and further promotion of bilateral cooperation.
- During the call between the SAC Chairman Prime Minister and the Ambassador of Lao People’s Democratic Republic, they also exchanged views on further enhancement of border trade, promotion of bilateral trade, expansion of direct flights between the two countries to develop tourism services, exchange of scholarship students, and plans to bilaterally exchange cultural troupes.
Also, present at the ceremonies were Council Joint Secretary Gen. Ye Win Oo, Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs U Than Swe and Director-General U Zaw Tun Oo of the Protocol Department, reports say.
