The 50th Anniversary of Rakhine State Day was held at U Ottama Hall in Sittway on 15 December. The ceremony was attended by members of the State Administration Council Dr. Hmuh Thang, Dr. Ba Shwe, and Khun San Lwin, Union Minister for Border Affairs Lt. Gen. Tun Tun Naung, Union Minister for Ethnic Affairs Jeng Phang Naw Taung, Rakhine State Chief Minister and his wife, Deputy Ministers, Daw Aye Nu Sein, a member of the SAC Central Advisory Body, the Chief Justice of the Rakhine State High Court, Rakhine State government ministers, senior Tatmadaw officers, departmental officials, invited guests, and recipients of honorary awards.
During the events,
- SAC member Dr Ba Shwe read the message sent by State Administration Council Chairman Prime Minister Senior General Thadoe Maha Thray Sithu Thadoe Thiri Thudhamma Min Aung Hlaing to the ceremony to mark the 50th Anniversary of Rakhine State. The ceremony also included the screening of commemorative video clip, featuring the development efforts of Rakhine State Government.
- The Union Minister for Border Affairs then handed over a 50W solar panel and related items to the Chief Minister.
- They also presented the certificates and awards to the recipients of honourary awards for excellence in administrative, economic and social fields.
In the evening, the SAC members attended the Golden Jubilee Rakhine State Day commemorative dinner held at Khine Thazin Hall in Sittway, reports say.
