The Union Minister and Deputy Ministers received the outgoing resident representative of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Ms. Elena Ajmone Sessera after completing her tour of duty in Myanmar and the newly appointed resident representative of ICRC in Myanmar Mr. Arnaud de Baecque and delegation at his office of the Ministry.
- On 9 December, during the call between Union Minister for Health Dr. Thet Khaing Win and the resident representatives, they discussed matters related to the ongoing collaboration between the Ministry of Health and the ICRC on healthcare issues, trainings for advancing technical support and capacity-building of human resources to modernize workshops and centres for prosthesis production and collaboration with international organizations, including UN agencies.
- On 10 December, during the call between Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs U Ko Ko Kyaw and the outgoing resident representative, they exchanged views on the activities of ICRC in Myanmar.
- On 10 December, during the call between Deputy Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement U Soe Kyi and the outgoing resident representative, they discussed matters related to humanitarian assistance initiatives, disaster risk management, education on the risk of landmine, rehabilitation support for landmine victims.
The call was attended by the Deputy Ministers of relevant ministries, the directors-general, officials, and representatives from the ICRC, reports say.
