2020 Election Fraud Findings Released Online and via Application

The ceremony to launch the website and mobile application presenting findings on fraud and illegal practices during the 2020 Multiparty Democracy General Election took place on 22 November at the Union Election Commission (UEC) office meeting hall.

During the event, UEC Chairman U Ko Ko highlighted the following points:

  • The 2020 general election was marred by significant voter list discrepancies, fraud, and illegal activities.
  • The 2020 general election did not comply with the Constitution, UEC laws, or election-related laws and regulations. Additionally, the 2020 general election was not a free and fair one. So, the election results were annulled.
  • The commission established the Website and Mobile Application to publicize those findings in five languages: Myanmar; English; Chinese; Russian; and Japanese.

The event was attended by UEC members, officials from the UEC office, representatives from Ministry of Transport and Communications, Ministry of Information, Ministry of Education and Ministry of Science and Technology the relevant ministries involved in the project, representatives of the Defence Ministry, and other UEC staff members, reports say.
