On 13 November, unidentified four men (still under investigation) entered the First Rate Mobile phone shop near Bogyoke street in Yan Aung Myay ward of Tachileik, Shan state (South). They gunned down a staff, looted 20 iPhones and banknotes of 112.1 million kyats and fled away.
Acting on the tip-off, security forces conducted a search on a rental house where the offenders hidden. The news had been publicly released that the security forces arrested four offenders alongside four pistols and related items used in the robbery, a vehicle and 12 looted phones.
On 14 November, security forces conducted a search on a residence of Daw Twan Shwe Shan (still under investigation) in Yan Aung Myay ward of Tachileik. During the search, it was discovered that no one was residing in the house. In the living room, two motorcycles used in the said-robbery were found. On the ceiling of the bedroom, authorities seized four US-made M-4 Carbine CAL 5.56 MM rifles, 130 rounds of ammunition and two magazines, one Czech Republic-made 9MM CZ pistol, 17 rounds of its ammunition and one magazine, one AK-47 rifle, 78 rounds of its kind and three magazines, three hand cuffs, three pairs of green camouflage uniforms, two gun cleaning rods and four bottles of gun lubricant. Therefore, legal action has been taken against them under the law, it is reported.
