Union Ministers Receive a Delegation led by Deputy Executive Director, Humanitarian Action ‌and Supply Operations, UNICEF Headquarters (New York)

Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs U Than Swe, Union Minister for Investment and Foreign Economic Relations Dr. Kan Zaw and Union Minister for Health Dr. Thet Khaing Win separately received the delegation led by Mr. Edward Chaker Chaiban, Deputy Executive Director, Humanitarian Action ‌and Supply Operations, UNICEF Headquarters (New York), at the respective ministries in Nay Pyi Taw on 12 November.

• During the meeting between Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs U Than Swe and the Deputy Executive Director, Humanitarian Action ‌and Supply Operations, UNICEF Headquarters (New York), they discussed and exchanged views on the matters relating to the existing cooperation between the Government of Myanmar and UNICEF, as well as future UNICEF programmes in Myanmar.
• During the meeting between Union Minister for Investment and Foreign Economic Relations Dr. Kan Zaw and the Deputy Executive Director, Humanitarian Action ‌and Supply Operations, UNICEF Headquarters (New York), they cordially discussed the matters relating to UNICEF’s supportive humanitarian programmes and future work plans to be carried out in Myanmar.
• During the meeting between Union Minister for Health Dr. Thet Khaing Win and the Deputy Executive Director, Humanitarian Action ‌and Supply Operations, UNICEF Headquarters (New York), they exchanged views on cooperation between the Ministry of Health and UNICEF in healthcare initiatives, increased cooperation in expanded immunization and nutrition development, and current collaboration efforts in Oral Cholera Vaccine (OCV).

Also present at the meetings were senior officials from the respective ministries and representatives from the UNICEF Myanmar office, it is reported.
