Chairman of State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing Holds Talks with Prime Ministers attending Summits in Kunming

Chairman of the State Admin­istration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing held meetings with Cambodian Prime Minister Mr. Hun Manet and party at the Green Lake Hotel, Prime Minister of Laos Mr. Sonexay Siphandone and party at the HUALUXE Kunming Hotel and Thai Prime Minister Ms. Paetongtarn Shinawatra and party at Wyndham Grand Hotel who will attend the summits, including the Eighth Greater Mekong Subregion Economic Cooperation Pro­gram (GMS) Summit to be held in Kun­ming of the People’s Republic of China.

At the separate meetings on 6 November, the Senior General met Cambodian Prime Minister Mr. Hun Manet and Prime Minister of Laos Mr. Sonexay Siphandone. During the meetings, they cordially exchanged views on the following matters:

  • The enhancement of friendly relations and cooperation between Myanmar and Cambodia and Myanmar and Laos, po­litical progress in Myanmar and current actual situations;
  • The best cooperation of Myanmar in ASEAN, participation of Myanmar in ASEAN meetings;
  • The needs to resolve the situations of Myanmar peacefully, plans of Cambodia and Laos to provide aid to Myanmar as much as they can;
  • Measures on friendly ties, diplomatic relations, and exchange of goodwill visits among Myanmar, Cam­bodia and Laos;
  • Enhancement of trade, investment, tourism, social and cultural sectors between the two countries, and promotion of cooperation in other sectors.

At the separate meetings on 7 November, the Senior General met Thai Prime Minister Ms. Paetongtarn Shinawatra. During the meetings, they cordially exchanged views on the following matters:

  • The peace and stability in border regions of both countries, the rule of law and development measures, eradication of transnational crime, narcotic drugs and online gambling;
  • The enhancement of border trade, investment and business and promotion of cooperation between the ministries and departments of both countries;
  • The political progress of Myanmar, implementation of the adopted objectives, and preparations to hold a free and fair multiparty democratic general election successfully.

After the meetings, the Senior Gen­eral and Prime Ministers from Cambodia, Laos and Thailand cordially greeted the attendees, it is reported.
