Security Forces Intercept Terrorists’ Fixed-wing Drones Launched to Attack Important Locations in Lewe Township, Nay Pyi Taw Council Area

With the intentions to destroy key buildings and important sites in Nay Pyi Taw Council Area and to make public panic, heinous terrorists attempted to launch acts of terrorism in Lewe Township of Nay Pyi Taw Council Area on 5 November, making a test-launch of some improvised fixed-wing drones.

The Air Defence Forces in Nay Pyi Taw Council Area detected the launch of terrorists’ drones in advance through air defence systems and successfully intercepted all the drones, resulting in the crash of three fixed-wing drones in the mid-flight.

Residents reported the crash sites, security forces prompted to carry out necessary searches to ensure public safety. They located three fixed-wing drones with explosives: the first drone was spotted near Kyaungyay village, the second drone was found near Kyankhinsu village, and the third was located near Nanwineai village in Lewe Township. These bombs were safely disposed of to eliminate any risk to the public. Additionally, the launch sites were identified through technological means and security forces responded quickly to those locations, it is reported.
