Chairman of State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing Visits Yunnan Vocational and Technical College and Kunming University of Science and Technology

Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing toured Yunnan Vocational and Technical College and Kunming University of Science and Technology in Kunming City in the afternoon of 5th of November.

The Prime Minister and party made the following visits:

  • On arrival at Yunnan Vocational and Technical College, the college’s officials presented information on academic programmes in vocational and technical fields, the status of the college’s connections with international vocational colleges and universities, the status of turning out skilled workers and professionals and other activities. The Senior General asked more information and held discussions in detail.
  • The delegation then visited the college’s Electromechanical Training Centre, where they observed technical tools used in international competitions and shows and advanced machinery awarded in the competitions, training activities of network cabling in the China’s Training Base for World Skills Competitions Information Network Cabling.
  • On arrival at Kunming University of Science and Technology, the officials provided explanations of the University’s operations at the AI testing centre by video clip. The delegation further viewed round the department which teaches the properties of UAV and drone technologies for agriculture, construction, and surveillance as well as the department which teach the system of advanced robotic technology, the use of sensor system and the application of technology.
  • As a gesture of marking the visit, gifts were exchanged between the Senior General and the university’s Party Secretary, followed by a group photo with university representatives.

Kunming University of Science and Technology was founded on 1st of September 1954, and is known for its engineering programmes. It also offers courses in medicine, agriculture, and biotechnology. The University has partnerships with institutions in 49 countries and regions, signed 245 international cooperation agreements with 190 research centres. It is also runing engineering and management skill courses and technological courses for neighboring countries, and advanced research cooperation and exchange programs for developed countries, reports say.
