Chairman of State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing Inspects Progress in Construction of Naypyitaw State Polytechnic University

Chairman of the State Administration Council (SAC) Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing inspected the progress in construction of Naypyitaw State Polytechnic University in Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory on 30 October.

At the temporary briefing hall of the University, Union Minister for Science and Technology reported on the progress in erecting three-storey main lecture hall, staff housings, lecture rooms, hostels for faculty members and students, sports grounds, library, teaching aid buildings and further plans, and arrangements to erect a statue marking the centenary of Myanmar Engineering Education at the university. After hearing the reports, the SAC Chairman Prime Minister Senior General instructed the officials as follows:

  • As the Naypyitaw State Polytechnic University catches attention of students and the people, all buildings, including lecture halls, hostels and others must meet the standards for their long-term existence.
  • It is necessary to consider current strengths of faculty members and students for construction of buildings in addition to the potentials to increase those faculty members and students in the long term.
  • It is necessary to calculate the number of students that can be accepted at the time of opening the university and the number of students likely to increase year by year.
  • All drainage facilities must be provided for the students before coming monsoon.
  • The university must be equipped with solar system to ensure water and power supply facilities and beautify the environment of the university.

During the inspection tour, the Senior General inspected the progress of the stadium facilitated with the track and stands, student hostels, the mess hall, gymnasium on the campus of the university, and the student assembly hall, the convocation hall, lecture halls, practical labs, the temporary library and the supporting rooms at the main lecture hall. The Senior General gave guidance to officials after hearing the reports.
