The owner of “Mya Shwe Yone” jewelry shop located between Insein street and Sinyaytwin street in Kamaryut Township, Yangon Region came back home on 21 October 2024, carrying 5 Viss and 29 Tical of Goldwares and 5 million cash. While he was at the frontage of his home, four men arrived at the scene by car. They then made a single shot, beat him, hit the rear exterior cover and looted three boxes of goldwares and cash money forcibly. After that, the perpetrators drove off.
Following the investigation, authorities inspected Ma Thet Htar Khine (aka) Yemon Aye, who live in Sanchaung Township, on suspicion on 23 October and spotted eight platinum white gold necklaces and cash money of one million kyats in her bag. She confessed that her husband asked her to sell them. So, authorities arrested her husband Htet Aung Khine. According to Htet Aung Khine’s confession, authorities confiscated one .32 bore revolver, nine bullets of S&WL, one shell of the bullet, cash money of 1.8 million kyats and other goldwares gained from robbery (under identification). According to further confession, perpetrators Kyaw Gyi (aka) Kyaw Zin Hein and Saw paing Zaw Oo (aka) Paing Gyi who were involved in the robbery.
According to the confessions of three perpetrators arrested:
- Perpetrators Htet Aung Khine, Kyaw Zin Hein and Wai Gyi (still at large) had undergone (5/2024) batch of PDF terrorist training in the area of KNU Brigade (7). During the training, Htet Aung Khine purchased .32 bore revolver and its bullets at the prices of 2.1 million kyats from U Marmu (under identification), who makes money transfer business. They observed “Mya Shwe Yone” jewelry shop for three and four times. They plotted to rob him after they figured out htat a driver alone transported goldwares at the opening time and closing time.
- The perpetrator Htet Aung Khine ordered the owner to open the car door at gunpoint. Meanwhile, the perpetrator Wai Gyi (still at large) hit the rear exterior cover and looted three boxes of goldwares. Then, they loaded the boxes in their car and drove off.
Measures are being taken to take harsh legal action against the perpetrators Htet Aung Khine, Kyaw Zin Hein (aka) Kyaw Gyi and Saw Paing Zaw Oo (aka) Paing Gyi.
