Visitors Flock to Bagan Ancient Cultural Zone and Ngwehsaung Beach on Thadingyut Holidays

Famous pagodas in Bagan Ancient Cultural Zone and beaches were crowded with people on Thadingyut holiday.

During the Thadingyut holidays:

  • Over 200,000 tourists flocked to famous pagodas such as Shwezigon pagoda, Ananda pagoda, Alodawpyi pagoda, Htilominlo pagoda, Gawdawpalin Temple, Hgnet Pyit Taung pagoda, Bu pagoda in Bagan Ancient Cultural Zone.
  • Around 16,151 tourists: 15,441 locals and 710 foreigners visited Myanmar Ngwe Saung Beach in Pathein City of Ayeyawady Region.

The Thadingyut Festival was held in the regions and states. Buddhists performed activities such as keep Sabbath, reciting paritta, paying homage to elders and their parents, and donating foods (Studitha) at famous pagodas on Thadingyut holiday, reports say.
