National Level of 25th Anniversary (Silver Jubilee) Myanmar Traditional Cultural Performing Arts Competitions Continues

The National Level of the 25th (Silver Jubilee) Myanmar Traditional Cultural Performing Arts Competitions 2024 is being held at the designated places in Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory from 14 to 20 October. The following are the events held at the venues:

  • The Maha Gita (classic song) contest comprising the basic education level (aged 15-20 years) female contest and the amateur level (first class) male contest was held at the Singing Room of Myanmar International Convention Centre- II (MICC-II).
  • The modern song contest, which included the amateur level (first class) male contest and the basic education level (aged 10-15 years) female contest, took place at the Banquet Hall of MICC II.
  • Contestants participated in the dancing contest, which consisted of the basic education level (aged 15-20 years) female contest and the higher education level male contest at the Plenary Hall of MICC II.
  • The song-composing contest, which included the amateur level (first class), amateur level (second class), higher education level and basic education level (aged 15-20 years) took position at the Yinkyayhmu Yadana Hall of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture.
  • The basic education level (aged 10-15 years) female piano contest and the amateur level (first class) female and male piano contests were held at the News Briefing Room of MICC-II.
  • The harp contest, which consisted of the higher education female and male contests, the basic education level (aged 15-20 years) male contest and the amateur level (first class) female and male contests took place at the Mini Theatre of the National Museum (Nay Pyi Taw).
  • Short drum (Doe Bat) contest comprising the amateur level (first class) and (second class), higher education level and basic education level (aged 15-20 years) were held at the training theatre of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture.
  • The orchestra troupe contest, which included the higher education female and male contestants and basic education female contestants (aged 10-15) took place at Wunzin Minyarzar Hall of National Museum (Nay Pyi Taw).
  • The marionette contest comprising the amateur level (first class) organized at the Yinkyayhmu Yadana Hall of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture.
  • “Zattawgyi” theatrical performing contest in group, which consisted of amateur level (first class) took place at open theatre of Nay Pyi Taw Development Committee.
  • SAC Secretary General Aung Lin Dwe and wife watched performances of the grand “Maha Zanaka” drama of the Myanmar Traditional Cultural Performing Arts Competitions at open theatre of Nay Pyi Taw Development Committee.
  • SAC Joint-Secretary General Ye Win Oo and wife watched the performances of the National Level of the 25th Anniversary (Silver Jubilee) Myanmar Traditional Cultural Performing Arts Competitions at the MICC-II in Nay Pyi Taw.

A total of 2,584 contestants are participating in relevant events at the national level of the 25th Anniversary (Silver Jubilee) Myanmar Traditional Cultural Performing Arts Competitions 2024 under the systematic scrutiny of 180 maestro panel of judges after passing through the township-, district-, region- and state-level competitions, reports say.
