Chairman of State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and Wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla’s Family Donate K10 Million to Fund for 104th Myanmar Film Day and 47th Respect-Paying Ceremony

The 104th Myanmar Film Day and 47th Respect-Paying Ceremony took place at the Myanmar Motion Pictures Organization (MMPO) Office in Bahan Township, Yangon Region on 13 October, with the attendance of Union Information Minister U Maung Maung Ohn, Yangon Region Chief Minister and regional ministers, patrons of Myanmar Motion Pictures Organization (MMPO), veteran artistes, actors, actresses, and other guests.

During the 47th Respect-Paying Ceremony, Union Minister U Maung Maung Ohn presented K10 million donated by Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, his wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla and family, to U Aung Lwin, a patron of MMPO.

Additionally, the Yangon Region Government donated K14 million, the Ministry of Information K2 million, Forever Group Co., Ltd K7 million, Shwe Thanlwin Media (Sky Net) Family K16.7 million worth of Sky Net DTH prepaid card for six months and six DTH receivers, Mingala Cinema Family K2.8 million, and the Union Solidarity and Development Party K2 million, respectively. Then, Union Minister, Yangon Region Chief Minister and attendees paid respect to veteran artistes and cordially greeted the veteran artistes, actors and actresses.

The first-ever Myanmar film, “Metta and Sura,” premiered on 13 October 1920, marking that date as Myanmar Film Day. This year’s event is the 47th celebration of this historic day, organizing the respect paying ceremonies to the senior artists.
