Authorities Provide Flood Victims with Foodstuffs in Regions and States

Relief and rehabilitation measures are ongoing in flood-stricken wards and villages in different regions and states, including Nay Pyi Taw Council Area. In this regard:

  • The graduated officers of OTS 64th cadet course donated 1.5 million, and U Maung Ko residing in Uyin village, Pobba Thiri township of Nay Pyi Taw Council Area donated 5 million, totalling of 6.5 million through Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement.
  • DV Group Entrepreneur Wang Jia Hua (aka) U Myint Swe of Cambodia, provided K200 million worth of 4,000 rice bags and CHEIN CHWIN from Senachy Cooperation Co., Ltd provided K20 million worth of 400 rice bags, totalling of 4,400 rice bags, for flood-hit areas through Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement.
  • Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture and officials donated robes and K 5.6 million cash assistance for 26 temporarily sheltered at the monasteries in Nay Pyi Taw Council Area.
  • Union Minister Dr. Charlie Than provided K9 million for flood victim employees of Yeni (Paper Mill) in Yeni Township.
  • Chairperson of the Myanmar Rice Federation provided donated K1,250 million in zero-interest loans and K500 million in financial assistance to assist in the recovery and replanting of crops damaged by floods and the officials accepted the donations.
  • Union Auditor-General Dr. Khin Naing Oo provided K28.2 million for flood victims employees of Office of the Auditor General of the Union and regional audit offices.
  • The State Government provided 30,000 Kyats per person and hygine kits, medicated mosquito nets, soaps, water purification tablets for vulnerable groups like pregnant women and kids under 3 years, Persons with Disability (PWDs) and elder persons over 75 years, as well as, toys and snacks, instant noodles, rice and canned meats for children in flood-stricken Kyi Taung village-tract.

The concerned authorities will continue to provide cash and necessary items for vulnerable group. They will undertake rehabilitation measures and provide mental and physical support due to the damage and losses experienced by local residents and their lives and property, reports say.
