Union Ministers and concerned officials have made management for fieldwork on water inflow into dams, the status of water flow in creeks, the wreckage of village-to-village connecting roads, bridges, water supply works for villages, collapses of communications towers as well as power cables, the conditions of wrecked roads and bridges under repair works, the condition of basic education schools flooded and the provision of healthcare services due to heavy rain by Yagi Typhoon. They carried out the following activities from 2 to 6 October:
- SAC Member Mahn Nyein Maung inspected the conditions of weirs and landslide and erosion near Phaungseik Village in Hinthada Township.
- Union Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development U Hla Moe, in his capacity as the Chairman of the Work Committee on Rehabilitation of Livelihood, made field inspections on the ongoing rehabilitation tasks and ensuring successful oil crops cultivation in Shan State (South).
- Union Minister for Electric Power U Nyan Tun inspected the reconstruction of the collapsed 230 kV Shwemyo-Nay Pyi Taw (2) power line in recent flash floods, relocation of power line and transmission process using 230 kV Thazi-Shwemyo power line after its repair works. He then left necessary instructions.
- Nay Pyi Taw Council Chair U Than Tun Oo viewed round Ywarthitgyi Village in Zeyathiri Township in recent flash floods, and inspected the completion of a Pann Chaung temporary bailey bridge located at Milepost No. 7/1 linking Nay Pyi Taw-Kintha-Koegwe-Leinli-Pinlaung road, and repairs of damaged areas due to falling of rocks from cliffs and landslides in torrential rains. He then arrived at Hsinthay Creek Bridge (Poppakone) and inspected the changing of water flows of the creek, repairs work to be carried out for erosion of creek bank, construction of creek retaining wall, repairs of bridge approach road and re-cultivation of rice by machineries to replace the flooded monsoon paddy field in Lewe Township. He also coordinated efforts for requirements.
Natural disaster occurred due to extreme flow of water in rivers and creeks, heavy water inflow into the dams across the nation. In this regard, concerned authorities are closely making management to recover the damages. They are also collaborating with relevant organizations to make relief efforts for flood victims in a timely manner, reports say.
