Thumb Replantation Performed Successfully at Yangon General Hospital

The patient was Maung Sai Zaw Htike, 26, who lives in Hlinethaya Township, Yangon. He encountered a cutting accident at his workplace, the construction site, and got right thumb traumatic amputation on 30 July. He was taken to Yangon General Hospital, and the thumb replantation was started at 7:35 pm and completed at 11:35 pm on that day.

The thumb replantation was performed by a hand operation group and an anaesthetic team. He was allowed to be discharged on 12 August (after 13 days of replantation). Moreover, the healthcare service was provided to him as an outpatient, and the thumb was in normal condition after 28 days of replantation, reports say.
