The Government of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar has agreed to the proposed appointment of Mr. Sofiane Chaib as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar with residence in Hanoi.
Mr. Sofiane Chaib was born on 5 September 1986. He obtained a Diploma from the National School of Administration of Algiers, a Master’s degree from Jean-Moulin Lyon University, France, and a Doctorate from the French Institute of Geopolitics, France.
As overseas assignments, he served as Diplomatic Attaché at the Embassy of Algeria in Morocco from September 2011 to July 2015 and as First Secretary at the Embassy of Algeria in Belgium from September 2017 to July 2021. From July 2024 to date, he has been serving as Ambassador of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, it is reported.
