Unofficial and subversive media have been creating and spreading rumours and fabricated news all round to create instability and unrest across the country; sowing discord between the Tatmadaw and the people, and using various ways to create a misleading impression over the Tatmadaw in the international arena. Under this context;
- “Khit Thit”, an unofficial media source, circulated rumors on social media platforms stating that the Tatmadaw forcefully arrested about 20 men for military recruitment in Ywathitkalay Village of Pyigyitagon Township. It was just fabrication. In reality, the patriotic youths who do not accept terror acts have voluntarily signed up for the People’s Military Servants Training on their own accord, and now it its fifth successful round.
- “Khit Thit”, an unofficial media source, spread false information on social media platforms accusing that the Tatmadaw launched drone attacks on some villages of Kyaukkyi Township, injuring three people including 8 months old child and destroying churches and residential houses. It was just ground rumours. In fact, the bombs were exploded on the residential houses at the time of launching drone attacks on security forces, injuring some security force members and killing some locals.
- “Khit Thit”, an unofficial media source, made fake news go viral on social media platforms alleging that legal action will be taken against those who donate relief and rescue aid to the flood-affected villages in Taungoo Township under Counter-Terrorism Law. It was a groundless information. In reality, security forces conduct local security measures and did not impose any restrictions.
- “Khit Thit”, an unofficial media source, spread false information on social media platforms accusing that the security forces torched residential houses in Konetanlay Village of Madaya Township. It was totally wrong. In reality, the terrorists are extorting money from the villagers and attempting to plant IEDs in the compound of residential houses and public roads in the village.
Since the enforcement of People’s Military Service Law, subversive media and those who do not wish to see peaceful situation are poisoning the entire populace with groundless information on social media platforms to feel frightened and hatred for security personnel and law enforcement organizations, reports say.
