Singaporeans Provide Foodstuffs and Essential Supplies to Flood Victims in Myanmar

The Singapore Sinhala Buddhist Association, Maha Garuna Buddhist Society, and Willing Hearts Charitable Organization have provided humanitarian aid of about 10 tonnes of food and essential supplies such as nutritious food packs, clothing for adults and children, jackets, hats and footwear, and personal hygiene products like soaps and shampoos for flood affected areas in Myanmar. Donations were facilitated by Myanmar National Airways (MNA) and Myanmar Airways International (MAI) running Singapore-Yangon trip.

The humanitarian assistant items donated by the relevant charitable associations of Singapore will be delivered to the people in the flood affected regions across the country through the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement. Such donations aim to promote friendly relations and mutual assistance, which are fundamental ones of relations between two countries, it is reported.
