Chairman of the State Administration Council (SAC) Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, accompanied by the SAC Member Chief of the General Staff (Army, Navy and Air) General Maung Maung Aye, Commander-in-Chief (Navy) Vice-Admiral Htein Win, senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief and officials, inspected peace and stability undertakings in PyinOoLwin Station under Central Command on 23 and 24 September.
At Nawaday Hall of Defence Services Academy, the commander of Central Command and the commander of PyinOoLwin Station reported on measures being taken for security, peace and stability of the region and seizures of arms and munitions from terrorists. After hearing the reports, the SAC Chairman Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services instructed the officials as follows:
- It is necessary to implement systematic measures to ensure local security, peace and stability in PyinOoLwin Station. Moreover, it is necessary to gather comprehensive information on the regions where they serve duties for regional organizational works and control measures in the station.
- Local Tatmadaw units must at one with and cooperate with residents in undertaking security measures for the regions and residents through mutual assistance and invisible unity.
After that, the SAC Chairman Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services inspected the construction of a new six-storey Thumingala Market (Nyantaw Market) project in PyinOoLwin on 24 September, where Mandalay Region Chief Minister U Myo Aung reported on the progress of works, a circular road of the market, car parks, lifts, ordinary steps, plans to open shops on each floor and cinemas, and arrangements to install solar panels for generating electricity. After hearing the reports, the Senior General stressed the following points:
- It is necessary to take worksite safety and proper flow of water in drains into consideration in undertaking the construction.
- The advanced market aims to meet the growing of population density and tourist arrivals in PyinOoLwin, and sell domestic products and essential personal goods in a single place. The Senior General inspected progress of the construction of new six-storey advanced market and left necessary instructions.
Later, the Senior General and party paid homage to the historic Maha Shwemyintin Pagoda and the Buddha Image at the Pada footprint hall of the pagoda, and instructed the officials to carry out the constant maintenance of the pagoda for long-term existence. The Senior General presented cash donations for the all-round renovation of the pagoda to the board of trustee.
