Union Minister for Immigration and Population U Myint Kyaing received a delegation led by Ms. Noriko Takagi, Resident Representative of UNHCR to Myanmar, at the Union Minister’s Office in Nay Pyi Taw on 18 September.
- They exchanged views on implementation of the process to repatriate those who left Rakhine State under the framework of the tripartite memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the ministry, UNDP and UNHCR, further extension of the MoU term, entry visa for foreign staff of UNHCR, coordination with relevant departments for imported materials under the procedures, measures for travels and residences of domestically appointed staff, and further cooperation between the ministry and UNDP-UNHCR.
The meeting was also attended by Deputy Ministers for Immigration and Population, Permanent Secretary, Director-General and officials of the Immigration Department and officials. It is reported.
