Union Minister for Information U Mg Mg Ohn Attends BRICS Media Summit

Myanmar delegation led by Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn together with Myanmar Ambassador to Russiaian Federation U Thit Linn Ohn, the representatives of Media attended the BRICS Media Summit, was held in Moscow, Russia from 13 to 17 September.

• Union minister met with the Centre for Public and Business Cooperation with the Republic of Myanmar and clarified the Myanmar-Russia cooperation, the actual situation of Myanmar, floods in Myanmar similar to those faced by other Asian countries, efforts of the Head of the State and officials in conducting recuse work and rehabilitation processes, and preparations for enumeration of population and household census.
• On 17 September, the union minister visited the Myanmar Embassy in Moscow and met the ambassador and embassy staff. During the meeting, they discussed the actual situation of the country, the need to weigh the fake news and the efforts of the Prime Minister in education, health, relief and rehabilitation measures, and State security.
• The union minister informally met Mr. Sergey Vladimirovich, regional head of South East Asia of Roscongress, at Plaza Garden and discussed the Myanmar-Russia media cooperation plan.

Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn and party visited the significant sites of Moscow, such as the Kremlin palace, ancient museums, the tomb of the unknown soldier, the Red Square, Saint Basil’s Cathedral, and religious temples on 16 September. The Myanmar delegation arrived in Yangon from Moscow on 18 September, it is reported.
