Over K8.37 Billion Worth of Drugs Seized in Kengtung Township

The combined team comprising Anti-Narcotics Task Force members across the country are putting an emphasis on seizure of narcotic drugs and drug-trafficking. In this regard:

• Acting on a tip-off, a combined team conducted a search on a Toyota Hilux Revo driven by Law Tar near Yankyein village of Kengtung Township, in Shan State (East) and seized over K8.37 billion worth of 1.047 tonnes of ICE (Meth amphetamine) on 7 September. The offender plotted to carry out drug-trafficking to Monghpyak Township from Kengtung Township.     

Legal action has been taken against them under the law, and officials are conducting ongoing investigations to identify the chain drug-related offenders, it is reported.
