The 62nd Annual Session of the Asian-African Legal Consultative Organization (AALCO) took place in Bangkok, Thailand, from 9 to 13 September. At the invitation of Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand H.E. Mr. Maris Sangiampongsa, Myanmar delegation led by Deputy Minister and Deputy Attorney-General Dr. Htein Lin Oo joined the event.
During the annual session, Deputy Minister and Deputy Attorney-General Dr. Htein Lin Oo discussed as follows:
- Myanmar is a founding member of the AALCO. There are seven original member countries: Myanmar, Sri Lanka, India, Indonesia, Iraq, Japan and United Arab Republic.
- Myanmar adopted Myanmar Sustainable Development Plan-MSDP for the implementation of sustainable development measures and efforts are being made to implement it.
- Regarding the confiscations of property related to crimes such as corruption, Myanmar signed the United Nations Convention against Corruption-UNCAC and has been making efforts to combat effectively with the set framework and rules locally.
During the opening ceremony of the session, Secretary-General of the AALCO H.E. Dr. Kamalinne Pinitpuvadol and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand H.E. Mr. Maris Sangiampongsa made opening remarks, it is reported.
