Union Ministers and Anti-Corruption Commission Chair Attend 9th Eastern Economic Forum

Union Ministers and Anti- Corruption Commission Chair, delegates of the Myanmar delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Transport and Communications General Mya Tun Oo attended relevant talks of 9th Eastern Economic Forum held in Vladivostok of Russia from September 3-6.

  • On 4 September, Union Minister for Hotels and Tourism Dr. Daw Thet Thet Khine participated in the discussion under the topic of “New Contours of International Cooperation” included in the “Russia-ASEAN Business Dialogue agenda”.
  • Union Minister for Industry Dr. Charlie Than participated in the discussion under the topic of “Experience of Developing Production Chains in the EAEU, SCO and BRICs” included in the “Cooperation in Greater Eurasia agenda”.
  • Union Minister for Electric Power U Nyan Tun-led delegation met the delegation led by Rosatom Renewable Energy Joint-Stock Company General Director Mr. Grigory Nazarov and then, they discussed matters related to electricity sector in Myanmar.
  • Union Minister for Industry Dr. Charlie Than-led delegation Deputy Minister of Russian Industry and Trade Mr. Alexsei Gruzdev-led delegation and then, they discussed matters related to cooperation in No (2) Steel Factory (Pin Pet) project, pharmaceutical manufacturing and other industrial sectors.
  • Myanmar delegation led by Anti-Corruption Commission Chair U Sit Aye signed the cooperation on anti-corruption as a related programme of the forum. The commission chair attended the discussion on protecting the rights of entrepreneurs and investors and said the commission’s legal actions under the law against those who commit corruptions and urged to cooperate in all-round sectors.

       Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Transport and Communications General Mya Tun Oo also attended the programmes which were participated by the Union Ministers, it is reported.
