Chairman of State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing Inspects Rehabilitation of Hsihseng Region Damaged by Terrorists in Pa-O Self- Administered Zone, Provides Aid to Residents

Hopong and Hsihseng townships in Pa-O Self-Administered Zone of Shan State (South) have suffered from impacts of loss and damage in terror acts of PNLO, KNDF and PDF terrorists which steadfastly commit subversive acts with attacks in towns and villages where local national races reside, dropping bombs on religious buildings and schools and firing on these areas with heavy weapons.

Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, accompanied by his entourage, inspected a plan to rebuild Hsihseng Myoma market damaged by terrorists, damage of staff rental housing of the Department of Urban and Housing Development in Hsihseng by terrorists, repairing process and gave necessary instructions on 4 September.

The Senior General cordially met with departmental officials, local Tatmadaw members and families, member of Myanmar Police Force, local people’s militia members, town elders and officials in Hsihseng. The Senior General delivered a speech as follows:

  • Hsihseng region have been residing in successive eras peacefully faced loss and damage in naughty terror acts of opportunist PNLO terrorists. Nobody should stop development tasks for a region or a country and they have to march forwards and work steadfastly.
  • Only residents can undertake peaceful and stable measures as well as development of the region. Likewise, residents also commit attempts to cause instability and to delay development tasks of the region.
  • The Senior General urged departmental staff to promote the socio-economic development of the region, focusing on education and health.
  • The government and Tatmadaw will rehabilitate Hsihseng and its surrounding villages damaged by terrorists as much as possible, and residents have to participate in the rehabilitation process. The Senior General provided food and supplies for the local military personnel and family members, local people, militia (local) members.
  • Due to the persuasion and instigation of KNDF and PDF terrorists, the PNLO terrorist group committed terror acts against their ethnic Pa-O with intimidation for terrorism administration and building their power in the region without sympathy. As a result, the region lost peace and stability, whereas locals suffered a loss of socioeconomic life.
  • Hence, as residents did not totally accept the terror acts of unfaithful PNLO terrorists, Pa-O national races from villages around Hsihseng gathered their strengths and joined hands with Tatmadaw and people’s militia (local) in reclaim Hsihseng region from the combined terrorists as quickly as possible.

The government and the Tatmadaw are now actively engaged in rehabilitation efforts, and the displaced ethnic residents are returning to their homes, resuming their peaceful lives and work, it is reported.
