K1.89 Billion Worth of Narcotic Drugs Seized in Thazi Township

The combined team comprising Anti-Narcotics Task Force members across the country are putting an emphasis on seizure of narcotic drugs and drug-trafficking. In this regard:

  • Acting on a tip-off, a combined team conducted a search on a motorbike driven by Pyae Phyo Kyaw (aka) Hmon Lay near Taunggwa Village in Thazi Township of Mandalay Region on 29 August. After that, they seized 37 kilos of Ketamine and 6.5 kilos of Happy Water, estimated to be worth K1.89 billion.
  • According to their interrogation results, Thein Min Kyaw (aka) Phoe Htwe and Naing Win Htun, Bo Bo Zaw, Ma Daing Nan (aka) Shwe Sin, and Win Ko Ko who were implicated in drug trafficking, were arrested along with a Mitsubishi Pajero and a Toyota Landcruiser. The seized drugs were reportedly intended to be transported from Shan State to Myawady Township in Kayin State.

Legal action has been taken against them under the law, and officials are conducting ongoing investigations to identify the chain drug-related offenders. Again, money profits and the property of the offenders involved in the drug-related crimes will be taken actions under Anti-Money Laundering Law, it is reported.
