Police seized ICE (crystal methamphetamines) worth more than K17.3 billion in Loilem Township on 7 January. During the incident:
· The combined team comprising members of Anti-Narcotics Task Force of Myanmar Police seized 635 kg of ICE (crystal methamphetamines) in a 12-wheeler Isuzu truck driven by Myit Soe together with Kyaw Sai (aka) Ar Kyone near the Hotint village on Loilem-Taunggyi Road in Loilem Township of southern Shan State.
· Acting on the information chains, they also seized a further 603 kg of ICE (crystal methamphetamines) in a 12-wheeler Isuzu truck driven by Thet Zuu together with Zay Khaung on Loilem-Taunggyi road between Cho Kham and Mongpon villages.
· At about 8 pm on that day, the officials also arrested other suspects called Ko Aung (aka) Naw Taung and Marla (aka) Sha Ywal along with 1238 kg of ICE (crystal methamphetamine) worth over K17.3 billion in their Hijet car near Loilem tollgate.
According to the inspection, it is reported that the drugs seized were transported to Taunggyi from Mongkong of Tangyan Township and those six suspects are being taken legal proceedings under the law as well as further investigations are being carried out.
