As per the guidance of the Chairman of State Administration Council Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services, the outstanding offspring of in-service military personnel, former military personnel, substituted civilian staff and soldiers, who had passed the 2023-2024 matriculation exam with flying colours made a foreign excursion to China since 26 August to study international culture and enrich their knowledge.
During the visit of the study-tour group to the People's Republic of China:
- On 27 August, the study-tour group visited Tian Tan Park and Ling Guang Temple, where the Buddha tooth relic is enshrined.
- On 28 August, they explored the Great Wall, the Summer Palace, and the venues of the Olympics and enjoyed sightseeing in Beijing.
- On 29 August, the group travelled to Guangzhou City by Beijing-Guangzhou bullet train from Beijing Bullet Train Station.
- On 30 August, they visited Ji Nan University in Guangzhou, where they learned about the university’s history, library, and faculties. In the evening, they visited the Guangzhou Tower and enjoyed a river cruise on the Zhu Jiang River.
The excursion group arrived back to Yangon on August 31 and was greeted by officials and students' parents and relatives, it is reported.
