COVID-19 Prevention, Control, and Treatment Activities Continue in Respective Regions and States

COVID-19 prevention, control and treatment activities such as opening quarantine centres and vaccinating people against COVID-19 continue in respective regions and states.

· The vaccination processes continue in respective regions and states as per the priority programme, and a total of 476 people have been vaccinated against COVID-19 as third dose, a total of 140,606 people have been vaccinated against COVID-19 as second dose and 46,475 people as first dose on 10 January.

· A total of 11,267 students aged 12 years and above from Basic Education Middle and High schools in respective regions and states have been vaccinated against COVID-19 as second dose and 3,117 students as first dose on 10 January. A total of 1,514,588 students have been vaccinated against COVID-19 till 10 January 2022.

·  Bengali people in Pauktaw township of Rakhine state and people aged 18 years and above who are taking shelter in IDP camps have been vaccinating against COVID-19. 

· Taninthayi Region Chief Minister and officials rewarded K 12.5 million of cash assistance and honours of certificate to doctors, nurses, Myanmar Red Cross Society, volunteers and philanthropic associations who actively participated in the COVID-19 prevention, control and treatment activities of Dawei district.

· On 10 January, the relevant officials opened the oxygen plant which was constructed with the donation money contributed by generous donors in the public hospital of Naung Yun township of “Naga” Self-Administered Zone in Sagaing region. The plant can produce 80 oxygen cylinders (40 liters) per day.

The Ministry of Health is conducting COVID-19 tests regularly, 105 new cases of COVID-19 were found from testing a total of 8,832 samples and the infected rates are 1.20 percent on 10 January. Until 10 January 2022, a total of 532,167 cases were found from testing a total of 6,140,608 samples and death toll reached 19,293.
