Chairman of State Administration Council Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing Inspects Measures for Regional Peace and Stability in the Central Command Area

Chairman of the State Administration Council (SAC) Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, accompanied by SAC Member Chief of the General Staff (Army, Navy and Air) General Maung Maung Aye, Commander-in-Chief (Navy) Vice-Admiral Htein Win, Commander-in-Chief (Air) General Tun Aung, Union-level dignitaries, senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief and officials, inspected the measures taken for the regional peace and stability in the area of Central Command on 26 August.

          First, at the meeting hall of the Central Command Headquarters, the Senior General heard reports presented by the Central Command Commander Brig-Gen Kyaw Ko Htaik on taking security measures in the command area, attempts of some EAOs and PDF terrorists to jeopardize peace and stability of the region, killing innocent people, blowing up public transport routes, bridges and railways in addition to communication towers, and continuous undertakings of Tatmadaw and Myanmar Police Force (MPF) members in serving security duties for ensuring peace and stability of the region.

          After hearing the reports, the Senior General underlined that it is necessary to systematically carry out peace and stability in the regions in order to ensure the safety of life and property of the people. People’s militia, war veterans and members of the Myanmar Police Force have to join hands in serving security and stability duties of relevant regions. The Senior General then stressed the need to consider long-term plans for peace and stability of the areas and secure and smooth transport measures. Moreover, he noted that it is necessary to enhance the capacity and capability of Tatmadaw and MPF members and people’s militia. Later, the Senior General gave guidance on the need to continuously take information about security and the restoration of security, peace, and stability in other regions.
