National Solidarity and Peacemaking Negotiation Committee (NSPNC) convened a separate meeting with representatives from NCA-signatory Ethnic Armed Organizations (EAOs), and Political Parties Working Group at National Solidarity and Peacemaking Centre in Nay Pyi Taw respectively as follows:
- During the meeting with the political parties’ working group on 21 August, Member of the NSPNC Lt-Gen Win Bo Shein put forward the points to be discussed by NSPNC. Then, both sides discussed the remaining points from the first meeting and the proposals submitted by both sides regarding with the points to be amended and added from the Constitution (2008).
- On 22 August, the two sides discussed and negotiated issues related to constitutional amendment proposals that had not been completed on the first day of the meeting, general elections, current political situations and security issues.
- During the meeting with representatives from EAOs on 23 August, Secretary of the NSPNC Lt-Gen Min Naing clarified the agenda of the meeting. They then made discussion relating to provision of humanitarian access and regional development.
- During the meeting with representatives from EAOs and Political Parties Working Group on 23 August, Secretary of the NSPNC Lt-Gen Min Naing clarified the agenda of the meeting. The attendees exchanged views on the measures to prioritize the peace and stability of the State for holding election successfully and the necessary cooperation measures in holding elections in the areas controlled by EAOs.
The meetings were attended by Union Minister for Border Affairs and NSPNC Chair Lt Gen Tun Tun Naung, committee members, representatives from NCA-signatory EAOs U Khun Oakkar, Arakan Liberation Party (ALP) Chair Saw Mra Raza Lin, Head of Central Relations Department of the Democratic Kayin Benevolent Army (DKBA) Saw Kyaw Than Htay, Central Executive Committee member of the KNU/KNLA Peace Council Saw Maung Maung, Lahu Democratic Union (LDU) Vice-Chairman Kyar Phu, New Mon State Party (NMSP) Central Executive Committee Member U Naing Aung Mange, and Pa-O National Liberation Organization (PNLO) Joint General-Secretary 1 Khun Min Thein, and officials, it is reported.
