Enumeration process will be conducted for Population and Household Census 2024 during the period on 1-15 October 2024. MRTV set a puzzle for the activities on enumeration process Underway for Population and Household Census 2024 at its location in Nay Pyi Taw on 21 August. Speaking on the occasion, Chairman of Central Census Commission Union Minister U Myint Kyaing said the following points:
- Public education programme is being broadly carried out in regions/states to conduct nationwide census.
- The census will be conducted based on the estimated population of over 56 million and 13 estimated households in 2024. The index time for census is set at mid-night on 30 September 2024.
- There will be around 110,000 collection plots for nationwide census. In undertaking census, 42,000 collectors will be tasked to collect data.
- As 68 questions for household questionnaire and 18 questions for organization questionnaire are set to collect data by door to door system. Hence, public education programme is effectively being carried out, aiming at the people to make correct answer to the queries raised by collectors.
- As the census data will be collected by mobile tablets and sent to the Headquarters via online system, the data will be received regularly and quickly. Likewise, pilot population list can be issued in a timely manner.
- The entire population are urged to cooperate with the Government for successful census data collecting process as the data will be used in the upcoming general elections.
The occasion was attended by Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn, Union Minister for Immigration and Population U Myint Kyaing, Deputy minister U Myo Thant, Deputy Minister for Education Dr. Zaw Myint, departmental heads and personnel of Ministry of Information, Ministry of Immigration and Population and Ministry of Education, contestants of students and teachers and MRTV personnel, it is reported.
